Artist | Professional | Traditional Art
United States
Ken To currently lives in California, USA, with his wife and two kids. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting at California State University, Fullerton.

Ken discovered his passion for bonsai in 2007 and quickly learned that he had a talent for styling trees. He employs an aggressive styling philosophy and has a natural eye for beauty that has made him popular in the bonsai community. As a bonsai artist, he is widely known for his work with shohin and mame bonsai.

In 2010, he began working with wire tree sculptures, primarily as a way to hone his bonsai skills. He gained popularity as a sculptor when his sculptures were well received by bonsai collectors. News of his wire sculptures quickly spread, and after just one year, his sculptures were sought by collectors in Europe, South America, Canada, and Asia, in addition to many parts of the United States.

Ken’s sculptures standout because they strictly adhere to the principles of bonsai aesthetics and convey a continuous sense of movement throughout each piece. Every piece is painstakingly shaped by hand resulting in a unique and original piece every time.

If you would like to commission an art piece, please send an email to ken@ken-to.com . All inquiries and comments are welcome.

If you didn't have a wife and kids I'd ask, "MARRY ME!"  :)  Your work is so awesome the words to describe how they make me feel will not come to mind.  Just see me with my mouth open, awe sparkling in my eyes.  I LOVE bonsai plants but I have a black thumb not a green one.  I look at a plant and they die.  It's sad really.  This gave me hope that I might be able to have one but in all truth I wouldn't be able to afford it, so I will collect the pictures and drool to my hearts content, happy that they are out there loved by those that come in contact with them.

Your photos do not do your work justice! Very elegant work! Might not happen this year, but I can be sure I'll be buying a few more from you in the semi-distant future!
